Today was absolutely ORGANIC here in Manjakkudi, India, and I'm pumped to share all about it! Picture this: I had a breakfast with the sound of peacocks and these crazy birds that sing like they're in a Disney movie. It's unreal!
Manjakkudi feels like it's from another time—so organic and untouched by modern stuff. It's like stepping back a hundred years ago, but in a really cool way. You know, like when the world was all about nature and chill vibes. The air here feels different, cleaner somehow, and every corner is bursting with life. It's not like the city back home where everything's fast and loud. Here, time moves slower, and that's kinda awesome.
I've read about indigenous cultures in American history, and being here makes it all click. People here are all about their traditions, and they're not big on change. It's like when you mess with their way of life, it gets real tense. It's fascinating to see it up close. I mean, back home, everyone's always rushing around, glued to their phones or whatever. Here, people take the time to talk, to listen. It's like a whole different rhythm of life.
Today wasn't just another day—nah, it was a DAY OF EXPLORING THE PEOPLE OF TWO WORLDS! We had this orientation thing where we met the Board of Directors. They were super nice and curious about life outside of Manjakkudi. We talked about jobs, school, and all the cool stuff happening in the world. Even the grown-ups got in on it, sharing their wisdom. It was eye-opening to see how different life is here compared to back home. Like, they wanted to know about our schools and what we do for fun, and we got to learn about their traditions and how they see the world. It was like swapping stories with friends you've never met before.
I'm starting to sound like my brother, Sid, which is weird because he's all calm and serious. Sometimes he's a bit too much, but hey, I guess he's got his moments. They say you shouldn't praise your siblings until you're old enough to stop asking for stuff—LOL! But seriously, Sid's been telling me to embrace every moment here, to learn from everyone I meet. And you know what? He's right. There's so much to take in, so many stories waiting to be heard.

Oh, and let me tell you about the morning wakeup call. It was nuts! Knock on the door at like 7 AM, and bam, we're doing morning meditation. I was skeptical at first, I mean, sitting still and quiet isn't exactly my thing. But you know what? It actually made me feel lighter, more focused. It's like my mind slowed down for a bit, and I could really appreciate the beauty around me. I'm totally gonna dig deeper into this meditation stuff—it's like a magic chill pill.
Manjakkudi has been a blast, and I totally wanna come back someday. There's so much more to see and learn here. Like, today we visited the local school, and it blew my mind. The kids were so curious about us, asking about where we're from and what our lives are like. We got to play games with them, teach them a bit of English, and just hang out. It was so cool to see how different our worlds are, yet how similar we all are deep down.
Until then, I'm soaking up every moment and taking in all the awesome vibes. Manjakkudi has a way of getting under your skin, in a good way. It's like you come here thinking you're gonna change lives, but really, it's your own life that gets changed.
Thanks for hanging out with me on my wild day in Manjakkudi. Hope you're inspired to go out and explore new places too. Stay tuned for more such stories—I'm just getting started!
